Hi! I’m ‘Miss 10’. It’s the weekend and Mum hates it when we say we’re bored, so she handed me some books and said “here read them and write a blog post about them”. So here is the first of my recommended reads for kids my age!
Diary of a Minecraft Zombie by Zack Zombie
Koala Books RRP: $9.99 AUD
The Diary of a Minecraft Zombie series is a series with eight books and more coming. This series is recommended for children from year 3 to year 7, or age 8+. I think it would be very easy for a year 7 kid to read, but sometimes it’s fun to read easy, funny books.
There are three main things I like about this series. One is that the books just carry on after each other, like you’re reading one big book with heaps of long chapters. The end of each book leads into the start of the next book.
Another thing that I like about this series is that the illustrations are so much like the real game. It’s like you’re actually playing Minecraft and seeing the game from the inside.
The last thing that I like about this series is that the author has written the book to put the reader in the position of the characters. We are used to running the game our way and building things. In these books, we understand what the game characters are thinking.
The main character is Zack Zombie and he is a Minecraft Zombie. Zack has 5 friends called Skelly the skeleton, Creepy the creeper, Slimy the slime block, Steve the human, and Mutant the zombie. The names alone are enough to make me laugh!
These books have pretty easy words for someone my age, but that makes them fast and fun to read. I can read one in a few hours. It’s my way of having ‘quiet time’.
If you would like to buy these books for your kids, you can buy them at your favourite local bookshop or via the Booktopia link below (so my Mum makes a bit of money to buy more books!). Happy reading!
